Fight fans, we are just about a few minute away from the super-mega fight of Floyd Mayweather vs. Miguel Cotto, which takes place live at the MGM Grand-Las Vegas, Saturday, May 5th. It can be seen live on HBO Pay-Per-View at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT.
Word is that there are still plenty of boxing available for this fight, so it will be interesting to see how the live streaming by Saturday night.
Mayweather is still the large favorite. Some sports books have him as wide as a -700 favorite. Cotto is the big underdog, with some sports books having him at +600.
I'll update these odds as we get closer to the actual fight.
One of the fight purses has been released for Saturday's card. Cotto will be making $8 million as well as pay-per-view backing.
Mayweather's purse is still not released at this time, but word is he will be making significantly more than Cotto, since he will be getting the majority of the pay-per-view backing.
In the co-feature fight, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will earn $1.2 million, and his opponent "Sugar" Shane Mosley will earn $650,000.
Mayweather's protege Jessie Vargas will earn $125,000 against Steve Forbes, who will make $40,000.
The opening fight has Deandre Latimore making $55,000 against former welterweight champion and former Miguel Cotto opponent Carlos Quintana, who will make $23,000.
